Over 50 years of precision camera service, grounded in a lifelong respect for mechanical and optical engineering.

A life built around cameras.
A craft carried across continents.
A camera technician's journey
Leon Treskunov personally confirms over 53 years of professional camera repair experience. His interest began at twelve, when his grandmother gave him a Contax camera — a gift that set his future in motion.
He studied opto-mechanics at a college in St. Petersburg, then began his professional career repairing Leica cameras in a factory in Ukraine. In 1989, he immigrated to the United States with his family. He walked Manhattan looking for work and found his first job in his second week, at Eddie Smolov Camera Store on Seventh Avenue at 29th Street, near Madison Square Garden.
He continued working in camera service, including time with Profoto in New York and Kyocera, the company associated with Yashica cameras. Over the decades, he built close ties with people from New York’s camera community, including Adorama and B&H Photo.
That background brought together traditional mechanical repair, optical precision, and experience with changing camera technologies. Trescam brings that experience to each repair conversation. NJ Camera & 1 Hour Photo also documents his background as a partner in its Lawrenceville business.
For Leon, a camera has never been simply another electronic device. It's a precision instrument, a creative tool, and — often — something a photographer wants to keep for life.

A technical foundation
Opto-mechanical training brings together the behavior of light and the mechanics that control it. Leon’s early Leica work and professional experience with Kyocera/Yashica shaped that approach.
Every inquiry starts with the specific camera, its condition, and what can realistically be done. Ask Leon to confirm model support and parts before making arrangements.
